Biopolis Dresden Imaging Platform

BioDIP's History

The BioDIP has developed over a couple of years. Major steps were the foundation of the Imaging Facilities Network (IFN) in 2006 and later the foundation of the BioDIP in 2013 enabled by the DFG "Core facilities" funding.
Here you find the timeline containing minor and major milestones of BioDIPs development.

01Mar2012

New Imaging Facility at the DZNE:
Silke White

Silke White has founded the new Imaging Platform at the Dresden site of the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE). The facility immediately became part of BioDIP.

The DZNE Imaging Platform started off with a state of the art Zeiss LSM 780 NLO and an Zeiss Apotome.2. Another confocal microsocpe (LSM700) and two Spinning disc system have joined the facility soon after.

DFG funding for BioDIP

The DFG supports the establishment of an imaging network and grants BioDIP a total of 450k EURO over the next three years.

New building for the CRTD

The new CRTD building is ready. All CRTD systems move to their new home in the CRTD LMF facility.

Achim Tieftrunk has visited BioDIP

The director of the DFG Program "Scientific Instrumentation and  Information Technology" Achim Tieftrunk has visited Biopolis Dresden. He has been impressed by how alive the network actually is.
